Craniosacral
Therapy
Craniosacral
therapy is a gentle and powerful method of holistic healing. It
is the art of listening to the body's story. All our life's experiences
are held in the body and in a very subtle way they continue to shape
our lives. The tissues contract as a result of a traumatic birth,
accidents, dental work, difficult emotional situations or general
stress and tension. We appear to have recovered, but the memory
of the experience is retained within the tissues. This can manifest
much later as illness, muscular tension, lack of energy, feelings
of anxiety or simply not feeling at ease in the world.
The craniosacral therapist listens to the rhythmic expressions within
the tissues and fluids of the body, identifying restrictions and
congestion and encouraging them to release and heal. It is a deeply
relaxing treatment, assisting the body to return to its natural
state of health. An important part of the work is the client's own
awareness of his/her own life process and the bodily sensations
experienced.
It can be very helpful in the retreat process giving us insight
into ourselves and our experiences of life.
